Dongfeng Motor Corporation and Guoneng electric vehicle Sweden Co., Ltd. signed a strategic cooperation agreement in Beijing on the 17th. The two sides will carry out joint research and development activities in the field of new energy vehicle technology, aiming to promote China's new energy vehicles to reach the international advanced level as soon as possible.
The two sides agreed to carry out joint research and development activities, actively promote the research and development of pure electric and incremental electric vehicles, and accelerate the industrialization of new energy vehicles by using advanced vehicle technology platforms, procurement and marketing resources.
According to the agreement, Dongfeng will support Guoneng to build a new energy vehicle R & D and production base in Tianjin, including supporting Guoneng to use the Dongfeng auto parts supplier system to achieve large-scale procurement cost advantages, and docking with the Dongfeng dealer system to complete the construction of sales and service system.
At the same time, Guoneng will support Dongfeng Motor's own brand models to carry out adaptive transformation for overseas markets to meet the requirements of regulations and technical specifications for entering the European market, and support Dongfeng Motor to develop important automotive markets in Europe and North America through the Guoneng auto dealer system.
Guoneng acquired the core assets, technology and intellectual property rights of Saab in Sweden in 2012, and has a complete and independent vehicle design and production capacity. Saab Automobile has developed electric vehicles since the 1960s, and has formed a clear technical roadmap in the field of pure electric and incremental vehicles.
